Lake Heritage, which is contained by one the largest hand built stone dams in South Africa, is a great place for bird watching, fishing, open water swimming and canoeing.
Giraffe, Zebra, Wildebeest, Blesbok, Impala and Springbok roam the hotel grounds freely along with our "Zonky" (Zebra+Donkey cross breed) and three black Springbok.

It’s that time of year again…
Time for the 2012 Lake Heritage Water Festival at Heia Safari Ranch!
This year's seeding event for the Midmare mile will again be held over two days.
Starting on Jan 21 with the 3 and 5km distance swims and finishing off on Jan 22 with the 1200m events for men and women as well as a 400m fun swim for the whole family.
As has become the norm over the last two events there will be all the usual food stalls that both swimmers and spectators enjoy. Pancakes, Boerewors as well as bacon and egg rolls are still on the menu, with Popcorn, Slush Puppy, Candy Floss and Soft Serve Ice Cream making their debut at the request of last years participants.
Water, Energy drinks as well as hot beverages and beer will be on sale from early morning.
